Welcome to Off the Shelf 2008

Now in its 17th year, Sheffield’s Off the Shelf Festival of Writing and Reading is well established as one of the major events in the region’s cultural calendar.  The Festival has grown into one of the largest, most popular and exciting events in the North of England attracting some of the best known names in literature and the media.

The Festival offers a wide range of events for audiences of all ages including readings, workshops, storytelling, exhibitions, talks, walks, poetry and much more.  This year’s programme offers a choice of over 200 events.

Off the Shelf is very popular and audiences grow year on year.  A recent audience survey gave a 97% good or excellent rating for Festival events.  We do hope that you will be able to enjoy an Off the Shelf event this year.
