Sponsorship Opportunities

Our work with Off the Shelf is an important part of hlw’s community relations programme and we are delighted to provide our support.  The relationship has provided our business with a variety of tangible benefits and is very much a two way partnership

What can Off the Shelf offer your company?

Sheffield’s Off the Shelf Festival of Writing and Reading is now in it’s 17th year and is well established as one of the region’s cultural calendar.  The Festival continues to grow in size, prestige and popularity and is one of the largest Festivals in the North of England.  The Festival is recognised by Arts Council England, Yorkshire as one of the key literature events in the region.  The Festival has an excellent reputation and is able to attract some of the best known names in literature and media to Sheffield each year.  Previous Festivals have included appearances by Kate Adie, Stephen Fry, Nick Hornby, Doris Lessing, Michael Palin, Jamie Oliver, Ian Rankin, Rose Tremain, Sarah Waters and Benjamin Zephaniah to name just a few.

By sponsoring Off the Shelf you can be associated with a prestigious and popular Festival offering a high quality, exciting and wide ranging programme of events.

Each year the Festival attracts over 15,000 people with the audience figure growing each year.  A further estimated 150,000 people view Festival displays and exhibitions.  We attract excellent audiences with many of our events selling out.  Our audiences are loyal, diverse, cover all age ranges from the very young upwards and, where some literature events attract a primarily female audience, we have an almost 50/50 gender split.  We receive a large amount of very positive feedback each year.  Our mailing list of keen and regular attenders contains almost 5,000 names.

Forty thousand full colour brochures are distributed across Sheffield and the region and, via the mailing list, countywide.  We also produce full colour posters and flyers for individual events.  Our website receives a huge number of hits throughout the year and we attract a large amount of press coverage.

Off the Shelf offers great value for money with a wide range of sponsorship packages available.  For example, Silver Sponsorship of a major Festival event, priced at only £1,000 plus VAT, offers acknowledgement of sponsorship in the brochure, on tickets and on posters and flyers, an advertisement within the brochure, complimentary tickets, acknowledgement of sponsorship on the Off the Shelf website, additional marketing opportunities.  We can also organise corporate entertainment for your clients at events.  We are known for our imaginative programming and can create an event within the Festival linked to your company brand or targeting a particular audience or community.  We can also organise creative and stimulating workshops for your workforce.  We are happy to meet with sponsors to discuss specific aims and ideas.

We are delighted to confirm that The Star are once again Gold Sponsor of the Festival which enables us to offer Silver Sponsors and above the added benefit of a quarter page special promotion or a Star Member’s Zone promotion.
