A History of Working Class Cinema – Danny Leigh

Artwork Slide

Thu, 17 October 7:00pm

In the Britain of 2019, class still inspires fierce debate. Film journalist Danny Leigh (The Guardian, Financial Times, BBC) has become a leading voice on class and culture. In this unique session filled with clips and conversation, he presents a personal guide to working class cinema – from the taboo-busting A Taste of Honey through directors like Lynne Ramsay and Shane Meadows and on to new ideas about what it is to be working class.
