Bloodaxe Poets -Imtiaz Dharker & Eleanor Brown

Imtiaz Dharkar was awarded the Queen’s Gold Medal for Poetry 2014. In her latest collection chance events play a key role: a bomb that misses its mark, six pomegranate seeds eaten by mistake. Eleanor Brown’s first collection in 1996 included her much anthologised “girlfriend’s revenge” poem Bitcherel. Her second, (three decades on ) draws on women’s lives with many poems written in response to interviews made for the Reading Sheffield oral history project.
