Kinder Scout: The People’s Mountain – Ed Douglas and John Beatty

Artwork Slide

Fri, 25 October 7:00pm

An illustrated celebration of a northern English mountain and our role in its creation. In 1951 the Peak District was designated the UK’s first national park. It is home to Kinder Scout, Britain’s most popular ‘mountain’ which bore witness in 1932 to a pedestrian rebellion – the Kinder Mass Trespass. Marked by the passage of millions of feet and centuries of farming this much-loved mountain is a record of social and political history, conflict and community.
