Wed, 27 October 6:30pm
Kimberly Campanello’s most recent project is MOTHERBABYHOME, a poetry-object and book comprising experimental and visual poetics. The work takes as its theme the St Mary’s Mother and Baby Home in Tuam, Ireland. Kimberley will read from the work followed by a discussion on some of the themes with the audience. Kimberley won a Markievicz Award and an Arts Council Ireland Literature Project Award for a digital writing collaboration with Christodoulos Makris and Fallow Media. She lectures in Creative Writing at the University of Leeds.
“Kimberly Campanello is an extraordinary poet. Her long sequence MOTHERBABYHOME is … a confrontation, a lamentation, a powerful objection and a revolution.” — Pádraig Ó Tuama
