Mudlarking – Lara Maiklem
Tue, 20 October 6:00pm
For thousands of years people have lost their possessions and dumped their rubbish in the River Thames, making it the longest and most varied archaeological site in the world. Lara Maiklem, known as the London Mudlark, has scoured it’s shores for over fifteen years in pursuit of these objects. In Mudlarking, Lara presents a history of an old city and its people told through the objects found along the banks of the River Thames.
Maiklem’s enthusiasm is infectious, and her reimagining of the lives of those who parted with these items is an illuminated joy – i newspaper
