Poet Laureate Simon Armitage is renowned for his wonderful poetry, his writing about nature and the wild and his love of music.  As part of his Laureateship he has introduced the annual Laurel Prize for environmentally themed poetry.   Off the Shelf has commissioned Simon to write a new piece in celebration of the Peak District National Park’s 70th anniversary this year.  The new work, 70 Notices, has been written to Kinder Scout – music by Barnsley musician, Lyndon Scarfe. Join us for a varied poetry reading by Simon Armitage which will include Lyndon performing 70 Notices live on the Crucible stage with Simon as part of this innovative and exciting collaboration celebrating the wild and wondrous Peak District.
