An illustrated local history talk looking at some of the oldest suburbs of Sheffield dating back as far as the Domesday Book. A fascinating insight into areas of Sheffield such as Attercliffe, Darnall, Heeley, Fulwood, Crookes and more. Find out where people took the waters against the plague in 1666, which suburb contained the first reservoirs in Sheffield replacing ancient wells and which had one of the country’s largest cricket grounds in the 19th century.
