Thu, 28 October 7:00pm

In The Book of Trespass, Nick Hayes takes an expansive journey over the walls of England into the thousands of square miles of rivers, woodland, lakes and meadows that are blocked from public access.   He offers a passionate defence of the right to access the natural world and challenges the nation’s long-held belief that ownership of land should come with the right to exclude everyone else.   He explores the history of enclosure, exploitation and exclusion, dating back to 1066, and continuing to the present day.  Nick Hayes is a campaigner for the right-to-roam, an author, illustrator, printmaker and political cartoonist.

“Brilliant, passionate and political . . . The Book of Trespass will make you see landscapes differently” – Robert Macfarlane
