The Canary Girls by Tim Nye – A Shared Reading
Tue, 26 October 7:45pm
Britain in the 1940’s was facing its darkest days. With their menfolk fighting on the frontline it was the women who stepped out of the home into the factories to makes the bombs and bullets. But for the Canary Girls that step wasn’t enough far enough, they wanted more.
When canaries are singing all should be well, but with the heartbreak of war, loss and endemic misogyny our women are in for the battle of their lives.
Writer Tim Nye is collaborating on a new musical production of The Canary Girls. Here is a chance to have a preview of the work at this shared read through event.
