A Spoken Word Performance by Young People and Joelle Taylor

The Youth Word Up is ten years old this year!  To celebrate, young people who’ve been involved in the project over the years perform their work.  Created by Benjamin Zephaniah, The Youth Word Up! has been developed by HIVE South Yorkshire, led by inspirational  poet, mentor and creative educator, Vicky Morris.

Sharing the stage with young poets, will be the mighty Joelle Taylor.  Joelle Taylor is an award winning poet.  A former UK slam champion, she founded the national youth slam championships.  Her latest collection is Songs My Enemy Taught Me.

Fearless.  This is poetry with purposeBenjamin Zephaniah on Joelle Taylor.

A  limited edition ten years anthology highlighting work from the project will be released on the night.  Venue to be confirmed – please e-mail offtheshelf@sheffield.ac.uk to book
