Off the Shelf 2020 Covid-19 statement

Covid-19 statement

We, at the University of Sheffield, are delighted to launch the Off the Shelf website and bring you news of our programme for 2020. In the light of the global pandemic there are changes to our usual Festival but we are keenly aware that books and reading are more important now than ever.

The team has worked throughout lockdown to produce an uplifting and thought-provoking programme that reflects the world around us. A lot of the Festival activity will be online but we are planning to have a number of live events in a real venue where we can safely invite audiences to hear some wonderful speakers in person.

We will launch the 2020 Off the Shelf Festival to general sale on the 14th September. Until then, stay safe and we look forward to sharing some inspiring times together in October.

In the meantime here is a sneak peek of some of the wonderful guests appearing at Off the Shelf 2020:

Simon Armitage, Lemn Sissay, Helen Mort, David Olusoga, Lee Child, Kit de Waal, Luke Jennings, Stuart Maconie, Susie Dent, Jonathan Porritt, Laura Wade, Nazir Afzal, Dan Walker, Sam West, Luke Harding, Candice Brathwaite and Michelle Rawlins.
