How to book

We are delighted to welcome Sheffield Theatres Trust as the new festival box office partner

● Ticket sales in 2020 will be online – all tickets will be E-tickets
● Click on the Book Now button on this website to book your events
● Your details will be taken for track and trace activity

Physical Events at the Crucible, Octagon and Mercure Kenwood Hall Hotel
● Book in advance only (no door sales at all)
● Tickets will be taken off sale 24 hours before the event (48 hours if the event takes place on a Sunday)
● You will be given an arrival time to help us maintain social distancing
● Events at these venues will be between 60-90 minutes
● Wheelchair access is available please book a wheelchair space
● There will be no interval, no book sales and no book signing
● Books can be purchased through Festival bookseller Blackwell’s – see info on each event page

● If you have COVID-19 symptoms please do not attend. In these circumstances contact offtheshelf@sheffield.ac.uk and we will give you a link to watch the live-stream from home and refund your ticket.

Live-streamed events from the Crucible and Octagon:
When you book you will receive an E-ticket. To view the live-stream of the event make sure you log in 30 minutes before the start time. To log in, please follow the below instructions:
● Go to www.offtheshelf.org.uk/login and log on using your Sheffield Theatres account details
● You'll see a list of all of the live-streamed events you have purchased tickets for, select the event you wish to view from this list
● The live-streamed video panel will be at the top of the event screen
● Enjoy the live event as it happens!

Online only events
● These events are free to view; please donate if you can
● You do not need to book for these, simply click on the link (that will appear on the event page) from 30 minutes before the start time

COVID-19 measures at physical events

Your safety, and the safety of all our speakers and staff, is of the utmost importance, and we have put in place a number of safety measures for your visit. Please be aware that these may be reviewed and amended as and when UK government guidance is updated.

We ask that you:
● Arrive at the venue at the arrival time specified on your ticket. We will be seating the audience row by row to avoid congestion
● Maintain good hand hygiene and use the sanitiser stations at the venue, avoid touching your face where possible
● Accept an infra-red temperature check before entering the building
● Always cover your mouth if needing to cough or sneeze
● Wear a face-covering at all times while inside the building (unless exempt)
● Observe social distancing at all times and follow one-way systems in place
● Sit in the numbered seat identified on your ticket (people cannot move into alternative seats or move any chairs)
● Bring minimal belongings with you (please do not use the seats in front or behind you to store things). Please note, cloakrooms will not be open so please do not bring any bags larger than A3 size
● Cooperate with any other requests from the Off the Shelf and venue teams as required

Other useful information:
● There will be no interval and no book sales or signing at the venue (see details on each event page for advance book orders)
● Toilet availability will be limited (e.g. one person at a time)
● Whilst entry is timed, you may need to queue outdoors so wear appropriate clothing - or bring a brolly
● There will be no bar open. If you need water please bring your own
● These events will be live-streamed to a paying audience at home
